Paronelli has a family passion that was born in 1945 with Jean Marie Alberto Paronelli who designed and manufactured pipes in Italian briarwood.
The ideas and standards of the founder have been handed down from generation to generation. Ariberto Paronelli, who now runs the company, carries on with passion and dedication the work started by the founder designing and creating classic models revisited in a modern key. Ariberto also works on commission. For the Paronelli family, pipes are a matter of heart.
Jean Marie Alberto Paronelli was born on 21 December 1914 in Gavirate.
At the age of 18, he went to London where he learned to speak and write French, English, German and Spanish.
In the city of London, he learned the art of the pipe, visiting assiduously the shops of Burlington Arcade. He first became a collector and then a consultant to other passionate collectors like him. He started working for Leonida Rossi and opened an office in Milan for the sale of the Pipe Rossi. In 1945, he decided to start his own business, creating the brand Paronelli. He began to design and produce his first models for the English market. In 1970, with his sons, he founded the First Italian Pipe Museum in Gavirate (VA) and founded the magazine LA PIPA. Alberto has also been rector of the Italian Pipe Academy and honorary member of numerous clubs around the world. He believed above all in friendship and human relations. In his museum enthusiasts from all over the world still come to meet. He told many pleasant anecdotes and you found yourself a child in an enchanted world. The thing that most struck him knowing is the vitality of those who, like him, had the good fortune to never work a day, because he did it with great passion. His creativity was expressed in words but also in painting and sculpture of which Alberto was a great fan.
The Paronelli family is also the owner of the first Italian pipe museum based in Gavirate (VA). The world's largest collection of pipes. In the 9 rooms of the museum there are more than 30,000 pieces on display from all over the world.
For over 50 years the museum has been a point of reference for all enthusiasts. Also at the museum, the family Paronelli, organizes the ITALIAN PIPE SHOW (www.italianpipeshow.com) every year that attracts smokers, collectors and onlookers from around the world.
